Tommy Vu is a Vietnamese American who graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in graphic design in May 2021. He first aspired to become a graphic designer from his love of the craft, principles, and work style of the field. He truly grew a passion for the field once his work assisted in having voices be represented and empowered.
Tommy’s earliest works were primarily focused on exploring various styles through learning and refining his knowledge and mastery of the fundamental skills of graphic design. Tommy is currently working to expand his professional experience and is focused on projects which try to captivate, inform, and make a memorable impression to gain a grip on the advertising field. Experience that he hopes will allow him to become a great specialist in the branding and illustration field in the future.
To strive toward the goal Tommy took part in the 2020 Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP) and is now an alumni,. He redesigned the WADO logo from Wellesley College as his first freelancing job, and he has done helped design the brand identity for numerous college events. His largest one being a week-long event for the Asian American Student Union (AASU) at the University of Florida which totaled to over 500 attendees.
